CJC 3011 Corrections and Penology

This course provides a critical examination of the philosophies, practices, and procedures employed in corrections in the United States. Topics and issues include correctional philosophies and ideologies, the history of punishment and corrections, and models of incarceration. This course also examines the characteristics of prisoners and the subculture of prison along with the death penalty and the future of corrections.
