POS 1031 Introduction to Conflict Analysis and Resolution

This course introduces students to basic concepts and methods of conflict analysis and resolution by examining how and why conflict occurs in society, and what we can do to mitigate its destructive aspects. It explores the central approaches to analyzing and resolving conflict. Societal, structural, and cultural factors that play a part in conflict and its resolution are highlighted. The course includes a brief history of the field, a survey of key conflict resolution themes and theories, and intervention methods for conflict in interpersonal, group, organizational, and international situations.
