This 12-month program provides the student with the technical ability, knowledge, and skills required for entry-level employment as a member of the health care team in a hospital operating room or outpatient surgical center. The Surgical Technology program provides the student with a strong foundation in the essentials of health care, anatomy, physiology, medical language, and pharmacology. Specialty didactic, laboratory and clinical courses in surgical technology prepare the student to become an entry-level surgical technologist and take the national certification exam.

This program also offers an Accelerated Alternate Delivery (AAD) track for on-the- job trained surgical technologists currently working in the field, and who qualify for admission. The graduate is eligible to sit for the national exam.

Students must achieve a grade of "C" or higher in all courses.
