GIS 2041 Introduction to GIS and GPS Applications

This course teaches the basic concepts of geographic information systems (GIS) and global positioning systems (GPS), related software program orientation, and basic procedures in the techniques of these applications. Practical experience in local projects related to agriculture, civil engineering, Everglades Restoration, and government operations are highlighted. The students complete a series of tutorials, exercises, and projects.
